What we do

AROHA has many important roles:

  • to encourage the recording, archiving and use of oral history material whether recorded in audio, video or any other medium;
  • to be a central point of contact for oral historians;
  • to be a link between oral historians in North East Scotland and other parts of Scotland, the UK and the world;
  • to provide information on oral history methods and procedures;
  • to provide technical information and how-to guides for new and experienced oral historians;
  • to promote regular meetings, talks and training workshops.
